Too often we end up treating the condition, not the person ...

Most massage programs and CE courses tend to focus on teaching students how to treat individual parts of the body in isolation.

This approach may help to alleviate immediate symptoms, but it often fails to address underlying issues that may be contributing to a client's discomfort.

By not treating the whole person, we miss the interconnectedness of the body's systems and how they work together.

And, often times, treating only the condition may lead to a temporary relief of symptoms but fail to provide long-term healing and resolution...

Start treating the entire person!

What's inside

The Curriculum

Chapter 1 - Introduction

What is an acupoint? What is Qi? How does acupressure actually work? We cover the theory through both the TCM lens and modern science, so you understand not just what you're doing but why it works.

Chapter 2 — The Techniques

Acupressure is so much more than just pressing on a point! In this section, we learn how to perform 17 different acupressure techniques.  We take time and learn exact hand positions and body mechanics for each of the 17 different acupressure and meridian massage techniques.

Chapter 3 / 4 — The Points

Region by region we make our way through the entire body learning specific acupoints and how to apply the techniques from Chapter 2 to each of the points.   Starting at the head and face, we work all the way down to the feet.

Chapter 5 — Treating Common Issues

In this section of the course, we discuss common dysfunctions and how to treat them using specific acupoints and techniques. We learn how to help with migraines by working on the hand, back pain by working on the leg and much more!

Chapter 6 — Homecare

The difference between helping someone feel better and helping them heal is found in homecare. In this section, you will learn simple homecare routines to help your client stretch and strengthen muscles, as well as lifestyle modifications to help create lasting change.

About Your Instructor

Dr. Jess Reynolds

Dr. Ac, DTCM, RMT, CJB

Hi, I'm Dr. Jess Reynolds, and I'm excited to be your instructor for this course. As a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncturist and massage therapist, I've spent years perfecting my craft and learning how to help my clients achieve optimal health and wellness. But I also understand the difficulties that come with learning a new skill and navigating the world of alternative medicine.

My own journey to becoming an expert in acupressure and meridian massage was not an easy one. I struggled with finding the right resources, and I wished there had been a course like this one available to me when I was starting out. That's why I'm so passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with you in a way that is clear, concise, and easy to understand.

With this course, you'll have access to the most effective acupressure techniques and the knowledge to confidently apply them to common dysfunctions. Plus, with my guidance and support, you'll gain a deeper understanding of how the body works as a whole and how acupressure can benefit your clients' overall health and wellness.

I look forward to working with you and helping you become a skilled acupressure practitioner. Let's get started!

But what do our students say?

Traditional medicine meets modern application

"I've been a practicing acupuncturist for 7 years now and this course has been a fantastic resource for new techniques as well as a general expansion of topics I learned years ago in school. Dr. Jess does a great job of applying traditional methods and theory to a modern understanding of anatomy and physiology. It's the perfect blend of technical instruction with regular demonstrations. I would highly recommend this course for anyone with an interest in acupressure, massage or traditional medicines."

Absolutely recommend !!!

"I am an aspiring Acupuncturist who is taking classes at the moment. I really enjoyed this course. It does not go too in-depth with traditional Chinese medicine as TCM theory takes a life time to learn, however, it teaches just enough to allow massage therapist to safely incorporate acupressure into their treatments."

Your Questions Answered

Do I need prior acupressure experience?

No. This workshop is designed for registered massage therapists who are new to acupressure. A background in anatomy and physiology is all you need.

What do I need to bring?

Comfortable clothes you can move in and work in. All materials, the textbook, massage tables, and food are provided. Just bring yourself.

How far is Bragg Creek from Calgary?

Bragg Creek is approximately 45 minutes west of Calgary along Highway 8. Detailed directions and parking information are sent with your registration confirmation.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes. You will receive a signed and dated certificate at the end of the workshop day, which you can submit to your association for CE credit.

How does meridian massage specifically support nervous system regulation?

Meridian massage utilizes specific pressure points to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, helping to shift clients from a sympathetic "fight or flight" state into a ventral vagal state of rest and repair. This functional approach bridges the gap between traditional manual therapy and modern neuroscience.

What is the difference between this meridian massage program and traditional structural fascia courses?

While structural courses (like those from SFH) focus on physical tissue manipulation, our meridian massage program focuses on functional integration. We look at how pressure points influence the autonomic nervous system and internal physiological balance, providing a neurological layer to your existing manual skills.

What specific clinical conditions are addressed in this clinical acupressure certification?

The course provides protocols for chronic tension headaches, shoulder impingement, lower back pain, and anxiety-related physical tension. We combine orthopedic assessment with meridian selection to ensure every treatment is evidence-based and clinically relevant.
